Today is National Farmers’ Day, and what would be more fitting of a celebration than a blog dedicated to the Great Garden State’s wonderful U-Pick farms and family friendly farm events!
We love living in New Jersey, and one of the things that makes it so wonderful are the abundant farms, orchards, gardens, and farmers markets. There’s always juicy Jersey Tomatoes, seasonal sweet corn from the fields, and plenty of apples and pumpkins. October sees the return of the 11th annual Wagner Farm Arboretum’s Spectacular BRITE NITES event in Warren NJ. Get your tickets in advance and book now so you can enjoy this seasonal jackolantern and art event!
Saturdays and Sundays in October are all about “Family Farm Fun” at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morristown.
October 15th and 23rd from 11AM to 6PM in Somerset, head over to visit Snyder’s Farm for their annual fall festival, and enjoy Pumpkin Picking, a Corn Maze, Hayrides, Food and more!
October 15th at Hill Creek Farms in Mullica Hill NJ, come out to support the “Ride the Farm” event as cyclists tour 14 miles or 24 mile of Gloucester County backroads with stop-offs at local farm stands along the way.
October 14th and 15th from 6PM to 8PM in Chester NJ, head out for the Harvest Moon Hayride event at Alstede Farms! There’s something for everyone including hayrides and other fun fall evening activities.
Sunday October 16th from 7AM to 12PM is the Fall Harvest Weekend event at Donaldson Farms in Hackettstown. Families can enjoy apple and pumpkin picking, corn mazes, hayrides, corn cannon, and plenty of fresh foods and homecooked snacks on weekends!
On select dates now through October 30th head out to Flemington NJ for a little seasonal fun at the “Farm of Horrors” events running every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night (weather permitting.)
